Pressure sensors that detect electrical changes upon mechanical deformation are crucial factors in ionoskins. In this study, we propose an ion gel-based pressure sensor using a one-pot fabrication process simplified by photopolymerization. We created film-type ion gels by varying the cation alkyl chain length in ionic liquids. By comparing the ionic conductivity and mechanical strength as pressure sensors, we found that [EMI][TFSI] exhibited optimal performance. The ionotronic pressure sensor was constructed and provided the high sensitivity (~3.02kPa-1), a wide pressure range (~100kpa), and excellent durability (~6,000 cycles). Furthermore, we fabricated sensor arrays for character recognition and external pressure sensing, enabling monitoring capabilities. This demonstrates the ease and convenience of fabricating ion gel performance as an ionotronic sensory platform through a simple polymerization process. |
